McCracken Remains Perfect All-Time Against Colonels

McCracken County remained perfect all-time against Christian County with a 16-1 win over the Colonels Tuesday in Hopkinsville.  The Mustangs are now 9-0 against Christian County since the formation of the McCracken County school in 2013.

The visitors from the First Region broke the game open with 10 runs in the seventh inning. They sent 16 batters to the plate and put up eight hits and were walked three times. Ben Higdon had the big hit of the inning, a three-run homer.

Grant Godwin had three doubles in the game and scored twice. Nate Lang also had three hits for the Mustangs, who were ranked No. 4 in the statewide baseball poll released by Prep Baseball Report.

Christian County was limited to three hits in the game, with one of those a solo home run by Elijah Underhill in the sixth inning. It was his team-leading fifth homer and raised his season batting average to .446.

Christian County, now 7-17, will close out the regular season Thursday at home against Muhlenberg County.
