Bell’s Day of Bests Paces Lady Colonels at Region

It was a big day Wednesday for Christian County’s Autumn Bell at the Class 3A Region 1 track and field championships, to say the least. Bell recorded four top-3 finishes in helping to lead the Lady Colonels to an overall 5th place team finish at the event.

The Lady Colonel junior finished behind Marshall County track star and University of Tennessee signee Sophie Galloway in three events.  In two of those events, Bell posted a personal best and added another PR in the 100-meter run.

Bell was second to Henderson County’s Natalia Davis in the 100 with a time of 13.12.

She finished third in the 200-meters with a time of 26.52 seconds.  Galloway took first in 25.65.

Bell recorded a second-place finish in the girls’ long jump with a leap of 16-feet and a quarter-inch.  It was a personal best jump for Bell, who topped 16 feet for the first time.  Galloway won the event with a jump of 19-feet and a half inch.

Bell would again finish second to Galloway in the triple jump. Bell had a jump of 34-03.50.

In the team standings, Christian County finished in fifth place with 31 points. Marshall County took first place, with Henderson County close behind in second.

OTHER LADY COLONEL REGION FINISHES

Jakiyah Oatts – 11th in the 400-meter run [1:12.53]

Shaely Thibodeaux – 12th in the 100-meter dash [14.10]; 12th in the 200-meter dash [29.51]

Daihla Price – 12th in the 800-meter run [2:51.35]

Janiyah Powell – 13th in the discus throw [63-02]; 15th in the shot put [23-02.50]

Alyssa Adler – 16th in the 400-meter run [1:21.41]

 

The 400-meter relay team finished sixth with a time of 1:00.88.

The 800-meter relay team was seventh in 2:02.34.

The 1600-meter relay team was seventh in 5:06.13.
