Addison Whalen started strong and did enough to qualify for his first state golf tournament following play Tuesday at the Region 2 Golf Tournament.
The Dawson Springs High senior eagled the par-5 first hole on his way to a round of 83. He nabbed the final individual qualifying spot for next week’s state golf tournament in Bowling Green.
Gage Smiley shot an 87 for the Panthers, who finished in sixth place as a team with a score of 357. Kolby Crook added a 92, Grayson Brewer a 95, and Jaxon Miller a 133 for Dawson Springs.
