Caldwell County has never played in the boys’ 2nd Region soccer championship match.
That will change Thursday night when the Tigers face Henderson County at 6:00 in the 2021 title contest at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville.
Caldwell advanced by edging University Heights 5-4 in a penalty-kick shootout Wednesday after the two squads played 80 minutes of regulation and 10 minutes of overtime still tied 0-0.
The shootout came down to the final shot, with Blake Vivrette making good and setting off a Caldwell celebration.
