HCA Begins State Soccer Title Quest

10-14-ruth

Heritage Christian Academy enters Thursday’s KCAA State Soccer Tournament as the top seed as they begin play in the semifinals.

The Warriors are unbeaten this year with only a tie against No. 2 Assumption Academy keeping them from a perfect 8-0 record.  HCA’s defense has been stout this year, allowing just four goals in eight games.

HCA [7-0-1] will play No. 4 seed Academy of Individual Excellence Thursday at 6:30 eastern time at the Elizabethtown Sports Park. AIE beat Lakeside Christian 3-2 in overtime this week in the quarterfinals.

The other semifinal has Assumption playing No. 3 seed North Hardin Christian.

Heritage Christian Academy has played in the state semifinals each of the past two years and is looking for its first trip to the KCAA championship game in 10 years. The Warriors are also looking for its first KCAA state soccer championship.

A Thursday win puts the Warriors in Friday’s championship game at 6:30 in Elizabethtown.
