
The Heritage Christian Academy soccer team claimed its first KCAA state soccer championship with a 1-0 victory over Assumption Academy on Friday night at the Elizabethtown Sports Park.
In additon to the state-title trophy, the Warriors dominated the individual postseason awards as well.
Senior Kris Ruth was named KCAA Mr. Soccer as the state’s top player.
Trenton Hayes, who scored the game winner, was named MVP and was joined by Trentin Fowler and Carlos Robles on the all-tournament team.
Hayes was also named to the All-State team, along with fellow senior Vova West.
