Lady Cardinals Top Fort Campbell for First Win

After starting the season with a pair of losses, the Livingston Central girls basketball team got in the win column on Tuesday with a 45-10 victory over the host Fort Campbell Lady Falcons.

Fort Campbell slips to 0-4 and will hope the shots start falling when they open 8th-District play at UHA on Thursday.

Maggie Downey and Emersyn Ramage combined for nine 1st-quarter points to get the Lady Cardinals off to a good start and they held the Lady Falcons scoreless for a 13-0 lead.

Marlie Fanning got the Lady Falcons’ first basket with a minute played in the 2nd quarter, but those would be their only points of the half.

Livingston Central duplicated its 13-point output from the opening quarter and took a 26-2 lead into the break.

Fort Campbell’s Rosella Rajj connected on a 3-pointer to open the 3rd and the Lady Falcons scored eight points in the frame after Kayla Prince buried a jumper in the final seconds.  Livingston Central got four points each from Ramage and Hadley Hargrove to outscore Fort Campbell by four.

The Lady Cardinals pitched another shutout in the 4th and added seven more points to the final margin.
