Rose Smith topped 1,000 career points and Lyon County’s girls won their third game in four nights on Friday.
Smith, a senior, had a game-high 17 points while reaching her milestone in the Lady Lyons’ 54-42 victory at McLean County.
Lyon (4-4) outscored the 3rd Region school 18-7 in the fourth quarter to put away the win in Calhoun after the Lady Cougars had closed to within 36-35 through three quarters.
The Lady Lyons led 9-4 after one period and 22-17 at halftime.
Lexi Holland added 14 points and Hadlie Butler had 12 for Lyon.
McLean (2-4) got 13 points from Kashlynn Rice and 10 from Sarah Miller.
Lyon is back in action again Saturday afternoon with a trip to Christian County.
