The Union County Bravettes handed the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers their third straight loss Saturday afternoon. The Bravettes limited the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers to just three field goals over the second and third quarters as Union County took the 56-40 win.
Hopkinsville was able to stay within shouting distance thanks to free throws. The Lady Tigers connected on 14 of 26 from the charity stripe in the game, including 9 of 12 in the second quarter when all of their points came from the line.
Behind a good start from Madison Morris and Mati Hagan, the Bravettes took the early lead in the game and it was a lead they would not give up for the rest of the night.
Morris, Mati Hagan, and Katelyn Hagan would all end up in double figures for Union County, which has won four of its last five games.
JaChia Pendleton led Hopkinsville with nine points on the night, including 7 of 8 at the free-throw line. Kahtahvia Fleming added seven points. Shaterra Bellamy, Faith Dansbury, and LaTaijha Cherry had six points each.
The loss drops the Lady Tigers to 1-3 on the year. The Lady Tigers will be back in action Tuesday evening when they travel to Caldwell County.
