Christian County’s offensive struggles during the middle part of the game were their undoing Wednesday in their game against Male at the Henderson Chevrolet, Buick, GMC Basketball Classic. The Bulldogs outscored the Colonels 36-11 in the second and third quarters on their way to a 63-38 win.

Christian County led the game after the opening quarter. Jordan Miles and K.J. Vaughn scored four points each as the Colonels took a 12-10 lead after the first eight minutes of the game.

Then, the wheels came off the offensive wagon for Christian County.

The Colonels were held to only two field goals in the second quarter as Male got rolling and took a 26-16 lead. The Bulldogs got hot from behind the line, knocking down four threes and four of four at the line to grab control of the game.

Male then came out of the locker room and hit the Colonels with the knockout blow in the third quarter. The Bulldogs allowed Christian County just three made field goals and a single free throw as their offense rang up 20 points to push the lead out to 46-23 heading into the final quarter.

The two teams played pretty much even over the final eight minutes as Male took the 25 point win.

Jordan Miles finished the game with 11 points for Christian County. K.J. Vaughn also hit double figures with 10.

Dezdrick Lindsey led a contingent of three double-figure scorers for Male with 17 points. Kaleb Glenn and Cole Edelen added 15 points each.

With the loss, Christian County falls to 4-6. The Colonels will finish the 2021 part of the schedule with a game against Evansville Memorial Thursday night in Henderson.
