Trigg Can’t Dig Out of Early Hole in Loss to Daviess County

Trigg County could not overcome an early deficit and dropped a 53-38 road decision at Daviess County Saturday afternoon in Owensboro.

The Wildcats trailed by 11 at halftime 25-14 and while they cut the deficit to single digits several times in the fourth quarter, they couldn’t solve Daviess County‘s defense to the point of getting back in the game.

Jhaden Vaughn led the Wildcats with 18 points. Khyran Vaughn scored six of his 10 points in the fourth quarter, but no one else scored more than four points for the Wildcats.

Cole Burch led Daviess County with 16 points as he was the only Panther to reach double figures. Jonathon Moss scored all seven of his points in the fourth quarter as the Panthers hit 11 of 17 free throws in the game. Trigg County was 8 of 13 at the line but only had one three-pointer.

Trigg County will host 4th Region All A Classic region champion Todd County Central Tuesday at Wildcat Gym.
