Lady Lyons Take Care of Business at University Heights

The Lyon County Lady Lyons got back on the winning track Friday night. The Lady Lyons rebounded from Tuesday night’s home loss to Webster County by going on the road and running past University Heights 59-37.

Lexi Holland, Calista Collins, and Hadlie Butler got the Lady Lyons started as they got out to a 19-11 lead after the opening quarter.

Lyon County then grabbed firm control of the game in the second quarter. The Lady Lyons hung 22 points on the scoreboard as their defense limited UHA to just 8 points, as Lyon County took a 41-19 lead into the break.

Lyon County had some offensive struggles of their own as the second half got underway. The Lady Blazers held the Lady Lyons to just 8 points in the quarter and cut the lead to 49-32. Alecia Davis had five points in the quarter for the Lady Blazers.

But that would be the end of the threat as the Lady Lyons pulled back out and took the 22 point win.

Calista Collins finished with 13 points to lead Lyon County. Hadlie Butler also reached double figures with 10 points.

For UHA, Alecia Davis was the only player to reach double figures with 14 points. Amaryia Bass just missed double digits with 9.

The Lady Lyons improve to 10-8 on the year, while UHA falls to 3-12.
