Lady Wildcats Bag 10th Straight Win Over Livingston Central

Livingston Central used a junk defense to take away Trigg County’s outside shooting threats Friday. But they forgot one.

Audrey Alexander hit three 3-pointers in the first half and Marleigh Reynolds was big inside as the Lady Wildcats picked up a 50-34 road win at Smithland.

Alexander and Reynolds combined to score all 13 of Trigg‘s first quarter points. Livingston opened the game with a diamond-and-two defense, shading Olivia Noffsinger and Kara Hyde. This came after Trigg County hit 11 3-pointers in a 20-point win over the Lady Cardinals less than two weeks ago.

Enter Alexander, who hit a pair of 3-pointers to spark an 11-2 Trigg run to end the quarter. She finished the game with 11 points as Trigg hit 5 of 11 from behind the arc.

Livingston also didn’t have an answer inside for Reynolds, who scored 25 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. Hyde added five points and seven rebounds.

Livingston was able to hold Noffsinger without a field goal and to two free throws.

The Lady Cardinals got 18 points and eight rebounds from Victoria Joiner, and Emersyn Ramage added seven points and six rebounds before fouling out.

Livingston‘s defense was able to score 14 points off 20 Trigg turnovers, but the Livingston Central defense had no answer for Reynolds inside.

The win is Trigg County’s 10th straight over Livington Central and ups the season record to 11-9. Trigg will host University Heights Academy Sunday at noon.
