For the second time in as many outings, the Todd County Central girls basketball team lost by double digits to 13th-District foe Franklin-Simpson to slip to 0-3 in district play.
Todd Central fell to the Lady Wildcats by 13 in Elkton on Monday and trailed from the opening whistle on the way to a 66-42 setback on Saturday.
The Lady Rebels’ fourth straight setback leaves them at 6-10 on the year, with a trip to Warren East coming up on Tuesday.
Alera Barbee and LeeLee Partinger combined for 10 1st-quarter points to help Franklin-Simpson to an early 12-4 advantage.
Barbee added six more, and Jasmine Savage sank a pair of 3-pointers in the 2nd quarter. The Lady Wildcats outscored Todd Central 19-10 to take a 31-14 lead into the halftime break.
Alexis Taylor scored eight in the 2nd half, including four in the 3rd, but Barbee kept the hot hand for Franklin-Simpson with six more. The Lady Wildcats led by 21 to start the 4th quarter, and Barbee tossed in the last eight of her game-high 25 to seal the win.
