If Trigg County had any concerns about having dead legs in playing its second game in 17 hours, they were erased early as the Lady Wildcats scored the first 14 points of the game and coasted to a 68-29 win over University Heights Academy Saturday at Wildcat Gym.
The Lady Wildcats built a 24-5 first quarter lead and extended it to 39-13 at halftime thanks to eight first half three-pointers.
Kara Hyde hit five threes in the contest and finished with 15 points. Six different Lady Wildcats knocked down a trey as they finished 10 of 30 from behind the arc.
Marleigh Reynolds added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats, who shot 43% from the field. Trigg also shot a season-best 16 of 21 at the free throw line.
University Heights Academy was led by Alicia Davis, who scored 18 points. Lee Lee Love scored three points and pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds. UHA shot just 21% from the field.
The win is Trigg County’s seventh straight against the Lady Blazers.
