A last-second putback in overtime was the difference Tuesday night as the Warren East Lady Raiders upended the Todd County Central Lady Rebels 46-45. The road loss was the 5th straight defeat for the Lady Rebels.
The loss was especially disappointing after the Lady Rebels had rallied from a first-half double-digit deficit to force the extra period.
Warren East held the Lady Rebels to just two made field goals in the first quarter as they jumped out to a 16-6 lead. Todd Central began its work on the comeback trail by limiting the Lady Raiders to five points in the second quarter as they cut the lead to 21-14 at the half.
With Abby Williams leading the way, the Lady Rebels continued to fight their way back into the game in the third quarter. The quarter ended with Todd Central trailing 30-24.
Williams, along with Alexis Taylor, helped to keep the heat on Warren East in the fourth quarter. Todd Central would outscore the Lady Raiders 13 to 7 over the final eight minutes to force overtime.
Alexis Taylor was at the top of the scoring column for the Lady Rebels with 14 points. Abby Williams added 12 for Todd County Central.
Natajia Alexander and Reagan Lawson had 14 each to lead the way for Warren East.
The Lady Rebels drop to 6-11 with the loss, while Warren East improves to 5-17.
