Warriors Get 20th Win, Stay Unbeaten in Conference Play

Heritage Christian Academy picked up its 20th win of the season and remained unbeaten in Kentucky Christian Athletic Association play with a pair of wins Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors beat Micah Christian 80-26 and later in the day edged Bethel Christian 59-53.

Against Micah, three Warriors scored in double figures led by Carlos Robles’ 25 points and 13 rebounds. Heritage jumped out to a 19-9 lead after one quarter and extended it to 45-18 at halftime.

The Warriors put the clamps down in the second half, outscoring Micah 35-8.

Trenton Hayes scored 17 points and Weston Powell added 13 for Heritage as nine players scored.

In the nightcap, HCA knocked off Bethel for the second time in a week, winning the second game by six points on Bethel‘s home court. Earlier in the week, HCA claimed a ten-point win in Hopkinsville.

Heritage led 30-24 at halftime. Up by only two points after three quarters, Heritage held on for the six-point win. Robles scored nine of his 13 points in the fourth quarter. Heritage got solid days from Triston Folz, who scored 16 points, and Zane Yates who added 14.

Weston Powell scored 11 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and handed out six assists.

Heritage Christian will host University Heights Academy Monday night in a doubleheader at Warrior gym.
