Rick Cohn Among Inductees of Inaugural Hopkinsville Hall of Fame Class (w/PHOTOS)

The first member of the inaugural class of the Planters Bank Hall of Fame at Hopkinsville High School was officially inducted Tuesday night during the doubleheader between Hopkinsville and Christian County. Rick Cohn, who passed away in 2000, is among those to enter the hall.

Cohn led the program at Hopkinsville for 28 years and had a long list of athletes go on to success at the collegiate and national level.

The ceremony for Cohn, for whom the school’s aquatic center is named, was held Tuesday night as his wife is one of the swim coaches at Hopkinsville High School and will be traveling to the state swim meet when Thursday night’s ceremony takes place.

For the rest of the inductees, the ceremony will be Thursday night at Tiger Gym. In between the junior varsity and varsity games against Muhlenberg County, the Hall of Fame Members will be introduced as the first class for their achievements and association with Hopkinsville High School athletics.

The JV game is scheduled to start at 6:00pm. Fans across the community are invited to attend the event and celebrate the history and achievements of former coaches and players.
