On a night when they were honored along with their families, Todd County Central’s three seniors sparked the Lady Rebels to a double-digit 1st half lead in a 75-53 victory over visiting Dawson Springs on Friday.
Todd Central ends the regular season with an 8-15 record and will face top-seeded Franklin-Simpson in the 13th-District tournament on Monday.
Seniors Jadynn Boards, Tamiya Foster, and Yasmine Peterson were part of a 1st-quarter effort that saw the Lady Rebels take a 25-11 lead. Foster drilled three 3-pointers, and Lucy Chester had 10 points to fuel the surge.
Abby Williams and Jamaia Coleman took turns carrying the Lady Rebels in the 2nd quarter. Williams scored six straight, and Coleman followed with eight to build a 45-24 halftime advantage.
Dawson Springs bounced back after the break behind six points each from Macy Drennan and Abby Ward. The Lady Panthers cut the lead to 14 before Williams knocked down a jumper for a 55-39 score.
Coleman scored on a layup and hit a jumper to start the 4th quarter and stretch the lead back to 20. Ciara Collins and Alexis Taylor combined for eight points, and the Lady Rebels cruised the rest of the way.
Dawson Springs ends the regular season at 9-18 and gets top-seeded Madisonville-North Hopkins on Monday in the 7th-District tournament.
Williams’ 15 points led the Lady Rebels, followed by Coleman with 14, Collins with 12, and Chester with 10.
Ward led all scorers with 17 for Dawson Springs. Drennan also reached double figures with 10, and Gracie Harper finished with 12.
