Webster County’s inside-outside game of Raigan Price and Hannah Yates proved too much for Crittenden County and sent the Lady Trojans into the region championship.
The Webster duo combined for 36 points in the Lady Trojans’ 52-33 region semifinal win Wednesday in Madisonville.
Yates hit three 3-pointers, and Price added six points to account for all 15 of Webster County’s first quarter points as the Lady Trojans built a 15-6 lead.
Crittenden got as close as five points in the second quarter on an Elliot Evans bucket with 6:43 left in the quarter.
Webster County led 23-17 early in the third quarter before embarking on a 20-6 run to put the game under wraps.
Price scored 14 points in the second half and finished with a game-high 24 points.
Crittenden County, who came into the game averaging 19 free attempts per game, only went to the line twice in the game, making one.
Taylor Guess was the lone Lady Rocket in double figures with 12 points.
Webster County advances to Friday night’s championship game against district rival Henderson County. The Lady Trojans are looking for its first region title since 2018.
