
Hopkinsville swept its Monday tennis match with Caldwell County at Ruff Park, winning all eight singles matches and three doubles matches with their region rival.
Sophie Maddux swept Josie Shaffer 6-0, 6-0 in a matchup of top singles’ seeds.
Allie Fort took an 8-0 decision over Rachel McClung in a battle of two seeds.
Keegan Miller took four games from Abby Moss before the Hoptown senior claimed the 8-4 win.
Ella Lester beat Avery Ritchey 8-1, and Elaine Baker took an 8-2 decision from Emma Peake.
Other Hoptown wins were Morgan Woolsey over Ella Johnson 8-0; Morgan Brown over Meleah Greenfield 8-3; and Ava Tomerlin over Lakhia Matchem 8-1.
In doubles play, Maddux and Moss beat McClung and Miller 6-4, 6-2; Fort and Lester turned back Ritchey and Peake 8-0; and Grasen Givens and Ella Brown defeated Shaffer and Johnson 8-1.
Hopkinsville is scheduled to return to the court Tuesday against Fort Campbell, while Caldwell County will play some indoor tennis at McCracken County.
