The Henderson County Colonels used a big third inning to roll past University Heights Academy in Henderson Saturday. The Colonels put ten runs on the board in the inning as they claimed a 13-0 five-inning win over the Blazers.

Henderson County scored a run in the bottom of the first on a fielder’s choice to get the early 1-0 lead. Henderson then took full advantage of five walks, one hit batter, and two Blazer errors to ignite the big 10 run third inning.

The Colonels would add a couple of insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Henderson starting pitcher Andrew Mills went four innings, giving up just one hit, striking out seven while walking three, to get the win.

Ryan Luckey had the only hit in the game for the Blazers. He ended up 1-2 on the day.

With the loss, UHA drops to 4-2 on the season. The Blazers are set to be back on the diamond Monday when they travel to Butler County.
