The Lyon County pitching staff is now officially on a roll. Two Lyon County pitchers combined to throw a four-hit shutout Saturday as the Lyons picked up a 3-0 road win at Ballard Memorial.
Brady Belt got the start against the Bombers and pitched five shutout innings. Corey Cissell went two shutout innings in relief. With the win, the Lyon County pitching staff has now thrown 20 straight shutout innings. The last run given up by the Lyon staff was in the 6th inning of the Lyons 7-5 win over Murray last Saturday.
Belt gave up three hits in his five innings and struck out three, while Cissell gave up one in his two innings and struck out two.
The Lyons would get the only run they needed in the top of the third. Brady Belt reached on an error, followed by a double from Gunnar Bingham. After an intentional walk to Jackson Shoulders, Brody Williams hit a sac fly to left to put Lyon County up 1-0.
The Lyons would add a couple of insurance runs in the top of the 7th on a sac fly from Corey Cissell and an RBI double from Jackson Shoulders.
Gunnar Bingham had a huge day at the plate, going 3-4 with a double and a run scored. Jackson Shoulders finished 2-3 with a pair of doubles, a walk, and an RBI. Turner Hurst was 1-3 with a double and a run scored.
Lyon County improves to 5-0 with the win. The Lyons are back in action Monday when they host Murray.
