The Todd County Central baseball team moved into the 4th-Region All-A semifinals after hammering visiting Metcalfe County 11-2 on Friday night.

The Rebels remain unbeaten at 5-0, with matchups with Madisonville-North Hopkins and Warren East scheduled for Saturday.

Leading 3-0 in the bottom of the 3rd, the Rebel bats went to work.  Jase Hampton delivered his second RBI single, and Devin Schutt doubled in a run for a 7-0 advantage.  Preston Rager tripled to bring in Schutt before coming home on Tanner Farmer’s two-out single.

Rager allowed his first hit of the game to start off the 4th inning.  Three walks brought in the Hornets’ first run, but Rager came through with a bases-loaded strikeout to end the threat.

After Metcalfe added a run in the top of the 6th, the Rebels tacked on a pair on Jacob Brandon’s run-scoring double and Gavyn Nolan’s RBI single.

Rager went four innings and allowed a single hit and one run with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Reece Harper took the loss for Metcalfe County, lasting three innings and allowing nine runs, only one earned, on eight hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Schutt and Hampton each had two hits for the Rebels.  Hampton drove in three, and Baker had two RBI.
