
Hopkinsville native Easton McGee and the Durham Bulls officially opened the 2022 minor league baseball season Tuesday night with a road matchup against the Nashville Sounds. Durham rallied from 4-2 down in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 4-4 only to see the Sounds close out the 5-4 win in the bottom half of the inning.
McGee pitched 3 innings in relief for the Bulls. He gave up two runs on two hits, striking out three while walking none.
It was McGee’s second appearance for the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. He was called up to Durham late in the 2021 season and made one start, pitching five innings.
