Quarterback Will Levis has one thing he wants to change this season about the way he plays — but I am not sure he can.
Levis led Kentucky to 10 wins last season, including a bowl win, and a lot of it had as much to do with his swagger as his passing ability.
He was not afraid to run the ball and take a hit. Some of his biggest plays came when he ran through tacklers, ran over tacklers or hurdled over them. However, he wants to have more of a NFL-type mentality this year.
“Definitely want to slide a little more this year. That’s the goal,” Levis said.
He knows making a big running play can “bring the team’s energy up” and he hates the idea of sliding or running out of bounds that cost him extra yards.
“But I have got to be smart and make the right decision for the team and that is to slide,” Levis said.

He strikes me as a player who can do anything he puts his mind to. We don’t want him injured!
His all-out running style was responsible for us winning a couple of close games last season. Going to a slide could cost us a couple of close games next season and, as big as he is, could end up wrecking a knee trying to slide. He is big and strong enough to take a hit and keep moving forward. That is one of his strengths; he shouldn’t be changing the way he plays now.
I don’t think he will or can change.
