Caldwell’s Girls Finish 4th at Mayfield Fast Times Meet

The Caldwell County Lady Tiger track team finished fourth out of nine teams in Saturday’s Mayfield Fast Times track and field competition.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Addyson Schott, Mariah Merritt, Kylee White and Jordan Ortt was second in 11:49.15.

The 4×400 relay team of Amaya Merritt, Mariah Merritt, Ortt and Medeline Thomas was second in 4:55.40.

The 4×200 relay squad of Benashka Thomas, Medeline Thomas, Amaya Merritt and Mariah Merritt was fourth in a time of 2:03.82.

Ortt was second in the triple jump at 27 feet, 1 inch, while T.J. Goodwin was third in that event at 26 feet, 11 inches.

Medeline Thomas finished third in the 400-meter run in 1:07.80.

White took fourth in the 1,600 run in 6:04.34.

Ortt was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:57.18. Schott was ninth in that event in 3:05.51.

Avery Wells placed fifth in the 100-meter dash in 13.97 seconds.

Wells finished sixth in the long jump at 14 feet, 5-1/2 inches.

Calloway County captured the team competition on Saturday with 182 points. Marshall County was next with 147 while Murray took third with 76.

Caldwell’s girls totaled 62 points to finish fourth, followed by Ballard Memorial with 54 and Mayfield with 37.

Dyer County was seventh with 33 points, Crittenden County had 32 points and Graves County recorded 23 points.

Caldwell’s tracksters have two meets coming up next week — at Hopkins County Central on Thursday and at Marshall County on Friday.
