
It may have been somewhat anticlimatic after Lyon County and University Heights each advanced to Tuesday’s 2nd Region All-A title game with one-run semifinal wins, but the Lyons won’t mind after needing only three innings to dispatch the Blazers 16-0.

The Blazers orchestrated a come-from-behind victory over Crittenden County earlier on Tuesday before falling to the Lyons in the nightcap. UHA slips to 8-8 and will get another shot at Lyon County on Friday.
Brody Williams’ solo home run got the Lyons started in a nine-run 1st. Turner Hurst followed with an RBI double and Austin Spears doubled twice in the inning and drove in three runs.
Gunnar Bingham’s RBI double highlighted five more runs in the 2nd, and run-scoring singles by Bingham and Williams rounded out the scoring in the 3rd.
Jackson Shoulders allowed a single hit and issued one walk with five strikeouts to earn the win.
Gunnar Bingham had three hits and four RBI, Williams, Hurst, and Spears each had two hits and drove in three, and John Bingham, Eli Baker, and Brady Belt each hit safely twice.
8th-grader Bryson Turner took the loss on the mound for the Blazers, allowing 11 runs, seven earned, on eight hits with a walk. Nic Luckey worked 2.1 innings in relief, yielding five runs, three earned, on eight hits with a pair of walks.
