Lauren Davis usually bats ninth for the Lyon County Lady Lyon softball team. But it’s not because she can’t hit.
Coach Jason Collins likes the way the lefty slap hitter works the pitcher and finds a way to get on base. Her numbers back that up. She’s batting .340 with an on-base percentage of .383. She also leads the Lady Lyons with nine stolen bases.
With Davis getting on base in the nine-hole, it sets the table for the top of the lineup.
