Todd County Central Dispatches Murray 13-1

After having to rally late to pick up a win in their first game of the day Saturday, the Todd County Central Rebels took care of things a little bit quicker in their second game. The Rebels put up a nine-spot in the bottom of the second and rolled past the Murray Tigers 13-1 in four innings.

The game wrapped up a day that saw Todd Central play Montgomery Central, Montgomery Central play Murray, and then the Rebels take on the Tigers in the nightcap.

Gavyn Nolan seemed to like hitting against the Murray pitching staff. Nolan hit a home run, a double, and a single in driving in four runs to lead the Rebel victory.

The game effectively ended in the bottom of the second as the first seven Rebels to come to the plate all reached base. Five different Todd Central batters had a hit in the inning. By the came the tidal wave receded, the Rebels had pushed nine runs across the plate.

Todd Central would add four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Three of those coming on a Gavyn Nolan homer to right.

In addition to Nolan’s big game, Preston Rager finished 2-3 with 2 RBIs and two runs scored.

Jase Paul Hampton pitched four innings for Todd Central, giving up one earned run on three hits, striking out eight, and walking three.

With the two wins on the day, the Rebels improve to 14-5 on the year. They are set to return to action Tuesday on the road at Russellville.
