University Heights Academy got back to the .500 mark with a doubleheader sweep at Fort Campbell Wednesday. The Blazers scored 16 runs in both games, winning 16-0 and 16-1.

In the opener, Jackson Flynn provided the arm and Eston Glover took care of the bat as the Blazers scored in every inning of the 16-0 win.

Flynn pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine while walking just four batters.  He allowed just an infield hit to Ethan Egner in the third inning.

Meanwhile, Eston Glover had two doubles, a triple, and six RBI to back the Blazer pitcher. He had a double and a three-run triple as part of an eight-run second inning.

The second game of the twin bill saw UHA as the home team with the make-up game played on post due to the continued shortage of umpires.

Fort Campbell struck first in the opening inning as Angel Garcia and Aiden Blaszkowski drew walks. Felipe Hernandez reached on an infield single that scored Garcia.

UHA answered with 11 runs in the home half of the first.  Jackson Flynn’s single was the only hit of an inning that saw eight walks, five wild pitches, three passed balls, two hit batters, two balks, and an error.

UHA’s only other hit in the game was a second-inning single by J.T. DeArmond. In all, the Blazers were walked 16 times and hit three times.

Ben Stone struck out six and walked three to garner the three-inning win.

UHA will host future Eighth District foe Heritage Christian Academy Thursday, while Fort Campbell will play at Clarksville Northwest Friday.
