Lady Blazers Bust Out the Bats in 16-6 Win

University Heights Academy scored in every inning and survived a six-run outburst by Heritage Christian Academy to claim a 16-6 win Monday at Linda Garris Field.

UHA put up seven runs in the first inning. Trinity Luke had an RBI double in the opening inning and scored on a Breanna Daniel single. She would then score on a Mia Litchfield single.

Sloan Hampton added an RBI triple in the opening frame for the Lady Blazers, who tallied 18 hits in the contest.

Regan Pollard finished 4-for-4 on the afternoon with two doubles and a triple. Luke and Daniel each had three hits and two RBI with Luke scoring three times. Hampton had two hits as did Mallory Ladd. Krista Keller had three hits and three runs scored from the lead-off position.

Down 11-0 in the third inning, Heritage Christian Academy put six runs on the board. Tori Sutton and Aubrey Noel each had RBI singles with Noel adding a steal of home.

Ladd got the win in relief for the Lady Blazers, striking out three and allowing six hits over four innings. Kennedy Hughes struck out six in the circle for the Lady Warriors but took the loss.

Heritage dropped 0-5 against KHSAA teams this season but the six runs were a season-high against that competition. HCA stands at 2-6 and will host Dawson Springs Tuesday.

UHA is 5-7 and will close out its regular season Tuesday at home against Mayfield.
