Christian County High School will vie for a 17th straight softball district championship Tuesday after taking down Fort Campbell by a score of 15-0 in Monday’s 8th District Tournament semifinals at University Heights Academy.

Starting pitcher Gracie Harned was the story in this one, as the sophomore slinger threw a four-inning perfect game to dominantly earn her 10th win in 15 starts. Harned (10-4) struck out nine of the 12 batters she faced and delivered 41 strikes on 61 pitches. Six of the 20 balls she issued came in the top of the first inning.

Offensively, the Colonels batted around in the bottom of the first and scored nine runs — including six with two outs — to take immediate control. Aalaisha McGregor delivered one of the highlights with a solo home run (her fifth of the season) during the frame.

Senior leadoff hitter Pickle Winkler was equally active. She had two of her three hits in the first inning, including a double to start the game and an RBI single to put her squad up 7-0. The University of Louisville signee went 3-for-3 with three runs and three stolen bases to add to her monster swan song season.

Chloe Craft (2-for-3, two runs, two RBIs) and Avery Adcock (2-for-2, two runs, RBI, walk) also made some noise during the rout. Adcock’s RBI double put CCHS ahead 11-0 in the third inning, while Craft’s first homer of the year ended the game via mercy rule in the bottom of the fourth. Craft (5), McGregor (4), Winkler (4) and Adcock (3) combined for 16 of their team’s 17 total bases.

The Falcons, who dropped their final games of the 2022 campaign, finished the season with a 4-13 record. Kiley McCrary took the loss in the circle for FCHS. Carrie McCrary struck out four in two innings of relief.

Christian County (24-9) will play in the 8th District Championship at 6 p.m. Tuesday at UHA.\
