
Top-seeded Madisonville-North Hopkins blitzed Dawson Springs 15-0 in three innings Monday to advance at the 7th District softball tournament in Princeton.
The Lady Maroons (23-5) scored nine runs in the first inning and six more in the second, and needed just 45 minutes to finish off the semifinal contest.
Madisonville, which has won the last eight 7th District championships, will face Caldwell County in Tuesday’s 6 p.m. title tilt at Lady Tiger Field.
Hayleigh Perdue did not allow a base hit and struck out five in three innings in the pitching circle.
Jaycee Noffsinger, Brenna Sherman and Mackenzie Stoltz each had two hits for Madisonville while Kennedy Justice homered.
