Ren Tachioka of Saitama, Japan, who plays college baseball at Southern Indiana, drove in the first run of the 2022 Ohio Valley League season for the Hoptown Hoppers Thursday night.
His third-inning single tied the game at 1-1, and the Hoppers went on to score five times in the frame on the way to a 16-9 victory over the Dubois County Bombers at Tiger Field in Hopkinsville.
