He grew up in Kentucky but Cutter Boley still watched Alabama “dominate college football” often.

“Just like most kids, it was always a dream to be able to have a chance to play for coach (Nick) Saban at Alabama,” said Boley, a junior quarterback at Lexington Christian after recently transferring from Larue County.

Now he might have that opportunity because he now has an Alabama scholarship offer after attending camp there.

“I got to meet Coach and be around the program,” Boley said. “I had really high expectations for the camp because it’s Alabama. It lived up to all my expectations. The coaching staff all have resumes that are very good. The facilities lived up to my expectations.”

He spent about 15 minutes with Saban in his office but was not sure if he would get a scholarship offer or not.

“I had talked to them Thursday after I got the Michigan offer on Wednesday,” Boley said Sunday night. “They just wanted to see me in person. I really didn’t think I would get one (scholarship offer) this early.”

“I have been performing well recently and had some confidence and swagger. Confidence is the biggest trait you can have. If you are not confident, you cannot be the best you can be. I am not cocky but I like to think I am the best.”

With the way his college offers continue to increase, a lot of big-time college coaches certainly like the swag he has.

Despite the Alabama offer, Boley still plans to play the 2022 and 2023 seasons at Lexington Christian. The 2024 season the plan is to be either at a prep school or just not play anywhere before enrolling in college in January of 2025.

He admits the Alabama offer was kind of “surreal” for his whole family and it took about an hour for it to really hit them after Saban made the offer.

“I have put in so much work in the offseason and now to get to showcase myself is really special,” Boley said. “I am just happy to see all the work paying off.”

He will be at Georgia Wednesday for a camp and then at Tennessee on Sunday.

Boley has a Kentucky scholarship offer and spent time last season developing a relationship with then offensive coordinator Liam Coen. Now he’s doing the same with new offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello. He also talks to Mark Perry, senior offensive analyst/director of high school relations.

“I talk to them once a week and am building that relationship with coach Scangarello,” he said.

  1. UL has a high octane QB commit and he’s turned into quite the recruiter for them.
Mac Jones was doing same for UK till Saban flipped him !
Never make it to Atlanta without a world class QB. And please don’t site UGA’s QB – he beat out two 5* QBs and had 23 NFL players surrounding him.
