Tate VanHooser went deep again for his summer team in the Myrtle Beach League on Wednesday.
VanHooser had a solo home run in the fourth inning for the Carolina Loggerheads, who also scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to salvage a 3-3 tie in the league contest with North Charleston.
The former Caldwell County standout finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk and the one RBI on the home run.
VanHooser has three home runs in South Carolina. He also homered in a win this past Saturday.
The Loggerheads are now 13-4-1 in the Myrtle Beach League, which runs through the month of June.
Earlier Wednesday, VanHooser tossed two-thirds of an inning on the mound but the Loggerheads dropped a 1-0 decision to North Charleston. VanHooser retired both batters he faced, getting a strikeout and a fly out to center.
VanHooser announced earlier this week that he will play his second season of college baseball at Motlow State in Tullahoma, Tenn. He played as a freshman this past season at Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill.
