The 2022 high school golf season officially got underway Friday morning for the Todd County Central Rebels. Three members of the Rebels’ golf team did an early rise and shine to head out for Franklin to take part in the inaugural “Battle at the Creek”, played at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek Golf Course.
With only three players making the trip, the Rebels did not compete for the team championship in the event.
The low round for Todd County Central came from Jase Paul Hampton, who finished his day with a round of 72. That score put him in a tie for 7th place, seven shots behind the medalist Charlie Reber, from Bowling Green High School, who “scorched” the course, shooting a 65 for the day.
The other Rebels in the event were Noah Rager and Preston Rager. Noah finished with an 82, while Preston was three shots further back with an 85.
Bowling Green’s ‘A’ team won the team title with a score of 278. Greenwood’s ‘A’ team took second place with a 292.
