After struggling at times to find the goal last season, Monday night’s scrimmage held some promise for the Christian County Colonels. The Colonels put up 8 goals on the scoreboard as they rolled past Fort Campbell 8-0 in a preseason scrimmage at the Stadium of Champions.
The Colonels took a 2-0 halftime lead on goals from Bryan Linares (10:24) and Eric Barrett (21:25).
Christian County then got things running in high gear during the second half of play, with five different players scoring goals and taking advantage of a Fort Campbell own goal to pull away for the big win.
Ashton Smith, Alex Hale, Christian Lopez, Noah Davis, and Gage Montes all found the net for Christian County in the second half of play.
Christian County’s defense was solid as the Colonels held Fort Campbell to under five shots on goal. Colonel goalies only had to come up with four saves to secure the shutout in the contest.
