With a season-opening match against 13th District rival Logan County just ten days away, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels traveled to Bowling Green Saturday. The Lady Rebels were at Warren East High School for a trio of volleyball matches against Wayne County, Warren East, and Edmonson County.
Up first for the Lady Rebels was a match against Wayne County. The Lady Cardinals were 26-12 last season and reached the 12th Region semifinals. Todd Central would take a sweep in the match, winning 25-11 and 25-18.
The second match of the day Saturday found the Lady Rebels taking on host Warren East. The match was a close contest throughout. Warren East took the opening set 25-19. Todd Central took the second set 25-17. The Lady Rebels claimed the third set 12-11 as the time limit ended the match.
The final match of the day for Todd County Central was a matchup against Edmonson County. After dropping a close 25-23 first set, the Lady Rebels came back to take the second set 25-12. They were leading 19-15 in the third set when the time limit again came into play.
The Lady Rebels will officially open the 2022 volleyball season August 16 when they go on the road to take on Logan County.
