Trigg County’s Lania Hite found the back of the net six times and her sister Leiah provided four assists on Monday in an 11-1 victory over visiting Union County. The Lady Wildcats evened their record at 1-1 with their first double-digit goal outing since a 10-0 win over Clinton County in 2019.

The sisters hooked up for two of the first three Lady Wildcat goals, with a strike from Hallie Joiner in between. Then, Lania and Leiah scored fourteen minutes apart for a 5-0 lead, and Lania grabbed her fourth goal of the half on a Joiner assist with just under ten minutes left.

Late in the half, a Union County injury required an ambulance, and the teams were sent to the benches for the break a few minutes early with the Lady Wildcats in front 6-0.

From the second half’s opening kickoff, Union County’s Annie Beaven was allowed through the Trigg County defense to get the Bravettes on the scoreboard.

Alyssa Southwood scored the opening goal of the second half for the Lady Wildcats, the first of five in twelve minutes to bring the game to an end. Southwood struck again just over a minute after Lania’s fourth goal, followed by freshman Maggie Wolf scoring the first of her career in stunning fashion from 25 yards out.

Fittingly, the Hite sisters connected again to end the match. Lania took down a pass from Leiah in the center of the box and rolled the ball into the corner with her left foot to beat the onrushing goalkeeper.

Trigg goalkeeper Sarah Sink made a single save to earn the win. The Lady Wildcats outshot the Bravettes 21-2.

Trigg County hits the road on Tuesday to face Paducah Tilghman. Union County slips to 1-3 and will host Hopkins County Central.
