Trigg County football coach Chris Ezell knew he was going to need a kicker for the 2022 football season. When he asked students in the building who had the best leg, most came back with the same answer — Olivia Noffsinger.
The senior athlete has already made her mark on the basketball court and the soccer field where she has earned All-District honors. Now, she’s ready to suit up for the Wildcat football team and handle the extra point duty.
Noffsinger plays center midfield for the Lady Wildcat soccer team where her booming leg helps distribute the ball where needed. She also handles most of the direct kicks.
Now, she’s ready to become the first female full-time kicker in the school’s history. She was a perfect 6-for-6 on PATs in Trigg County’s final preseason scrimmage at Russellville last week. If she repeats the performance in the season opener with Todd County Central, she will become the first Trigg County female to score a point in a football game.
Trigg County has had two females attempt an extra point in years past, but they were unsuccessful.
A PAT by Noffsinger in football would give her points in four different sports — 1,011 points scored in basketball, 11 goals in soccer, and three runs scored as a sophomore in her only season on the Lady Wildcat softball team.
