Trigg County Drops Matches at Summer Slam

While it was a tough weekend trip, the Trigg County Lady Wildcats got some valuable experience on the volleyball court against some top level competition. Trigg County made the trip to Owensboro to take part in the Apollo Summer Slam.

The Lady Wildcats had a tough pool to contend with during their trip to Owensboro. They were set in a pool with Daviess County, Warren East, and the host school, Apollo.

Daviess County overpowered Trigg County in the matchup between the two teams Friday night. The Lady Panthers rolled to a 25-6 and 25-7 sweep over the Lady Wildcats.

Trigg had to contend with Warren East in their first match Saturday morning. The Lady Raiders cruised past the Lady Wildcats, winning in straight sets 25-6 and 25-5.

The Lady Wildcats finished out their pool plau in the tournament by taking on the E-Gals from Apollo. Apollo took the first set 25-10 and then closed out the match with a 25-11 win in the second set.

In the bracket competition, the Lady Wildcats would fall to Crittenden County, McLean County, and Carlisle County.

Trigg County now falls to 0-9 on the year. They return to action Tuesday when they host Murray at Wildcat Gym.
