For the first time in nearly three years, the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons have won back-to-back matches on the volleyball court. The Lady Falcons accomplished that feat Tuesday night by outlasting Hopkins Central in five sets.

The last time the Lady Falcons won two straight matches was in September 2019 and Hopkins Central was involved in that mini-streak as well. That season, Fort Campbell beat Kenwood and the Lady Storm in back-to-back matches.

The Lady Falcons won the opening set of the match Tuesday night 25-20. Abby Roby had three aces and a kill to lead the Fort Campbell attack. The Lady Storm battled back to even things up by taking the second set 25-21.

Hopkins Central appeared to have all the momentum going in its direction after winning the third set 26-24 and taking a 2-1 lead in the match.

But give the Lady Falcons credit, back they came. Fort Campbell would win the fourth 25-19 and force the deciding fifth set.

Fort Campbell would claim the final set 15-11 and pick up their second win of the season. Abby Roby had three kills during the set, while Marlie Fanning added two.

The Lady Falcons are now 2-1 on the year and will be back on the court Thursday night when they travel to UHA for an 8th District contest.
