
Two nights after losing to University Heights Academy in the first-ever meeting of the future district rivals, Heritage Christian County bounced back to sweep Hopkinsville Thursday.
The Lady Warriors took the match at Tiger Gym 25-14, 25-19, 25-18.
HCA’s service game was on point with 22 aces and just four service errors in the match. Mya Goodwin had 10 aces and Kailynn Stanley added three.
Goodwin also had 11 kills and eight assists.
Elle Heltsley had 14 kills and contributed eight assists and Katie Cansler had eight digs and three assists.
Allison Lutrell had four aces, four digs, and a kill for Hoptown. Addyson Fortin was strong at the net with three blocks, and Rilee Joiner had five assists and two kills.
Heritage Christian Academy improves to 8-2. The Lady Warriors will play a KCAA contest at Oak Ridge Christian Friday night and then play in the All A Classic Region Tournament for the first time Saturday at Crittenden County.
Hopkinsville is now 1-2 and will play at Hopkins County Central Tuesday. Despite the loss, Hoptown coach Laykin Peek was upbeat after the match and said she sees the pieces coming together for her squad.
