Murray Overpowers Lyon County in Saturday Match

A tough day on the pitch Saturday for the Lyon County Lyons. Murray traveled to Lee S. Jones Park and gave strong indication of why they are headed to Frankfort next weekend for the All A Classic state soccer tournament.

The Tigers controlled the match on both ends of the field as they picked up an 11-1 win over the Lyons.

Max Rosa, Kameron Murphy, and Kellen Crouch all had hat tricks to lead the Murray attack.

Lyon County’s goal came from Timothy Stewart. Jackson Crawford, who was under fire from the Tigers most of the day registered 19 saves for the Lyons.

The loss was just hours after the Lyons dropped a 6-1 decision Friday night at Hopkins Central. Colton Browning scored four goals and handed out two assists to lead the Storm.

Lyon County’s goal was scored by Colt Bannister. Jackson Crawford was credited with 12 saves in goal for Lyon County.

With the losses, the Lyons drop to 4-12 on the season. They are back in action Thursday when they travel to Logan County.
