Trigg County senior Hunter Reynolds made a run at a regional golf championship on Wednesday.
At 2-under par, Reynolds held a one-shot lead with three holes to go at the 1st Region tournament at Paxton Park Golf Course in Paducah.
However, a late double bogey saw Reynolds finish at even-par 71 — one shot behind Marshall County senior Trey Wall.
Wall was the only golfer below par on a dry and windy day that saw temperatures hit triple digits in the afternoon.
Reynolds claimed the runner-up spot and will play in the State First Round on Monday at Owensboro Country Club along with Trigg teammate Ty Butts, who tied for fourth with a 3-over 74.
The Wildcats placed fourth in the team standings with a 315.
Marshall County’s 300 took team honors while Paducah St. Mary (309) edged McCracken County (310) for runner-up.
Other individual scores for Trigg saw Hayden Reynolds shoot an 83, Trevor Terrell 87 and Matthew Leeper 103.
