Hayden Engler’s 75 Qualifies for State First Round in Owensboro

Hayden Engler of Christian Fellowship School is headed to the State First Round golf tournament Monday in Owensboro.

The CFS senior shot a 4-over-par 75 in the 1st Region golf tournament Wednesday at Paxton Park in Paducah.

That left him in a three-way tie for sixth place.

Trey Wall of Marshall County was medalist at 1-under 70.

Trigg County’s Hunter Reynolds was second at 71 while Paducah Tilghman’s Jack Butts was third at 73.

Lyon County’s Travis Perry tied with Trigg’s Ty Butts for fourth at 74.

Engler was next, tied with Paducah St. Mary teammates Luke Wilson and Aiden Hahn.

The top two teams in the regional qualify for the next round along with the next top 10 individuals.

Meanwhile, the top three teams and next 15 individuals at the State First Round at Owensboro Country Club will move on to the State Finals Rounds at Bowling Green the following week.

Other scores for Christian Fellowship in the regional saw Andrew Dunning shoot 84, Dawson Hicks 93, Brady Fletcher 94 and Isaac Choate 107.
