
A top 10 finish by Billy Lubas helped the Fort Campbell Falcons cross country team post a respectable ninth-place finish out of 23 teams at Saturday’s Marshall County Invitational.
Lubas ran a time of 17:47 over the 3.1-mile course. Seth Puraty was 54th for Fort Campbell, breaking the 20-minute barrier in a time of 19:39.
Jeffrey Perry finished in 78th place, followed by John Arnold in 91st place, Jayden Perry in 109th place, Jackson Evans in 176th place, and Adam Claudio in 177th place.
Madisonville easily won the team title putting four runners in the top 10. The Maroons had 29 points to finish 100 points ahead of second-place Cape Girardeau (Mo.) Notre Dame. Fort Campbell’s 103 points were one better than Stewart County and 70 points behind 8th place Marshall County.
