The Christian County Colonels will now have the chance to play for the top seed in the 8th District tournament. The Colonels earned the opportunity with a 2-1 win over the Fort Campbell Falcons Monday night at the Stadium of Champions.

With the win Monday night, the Colonels go to 2-0 in district play. The University Heights Academy Blazers are also 2-0 in the 8th District. The two teams are set to settle the matter Tuesday night at UHA’s Givens Field.

After losing all three regular season district matches last season by just one goal each, the Colonels find themselves on the brink of being the top team in the district heading into the post season after their wins, by one goal of course, over the Tigers and the Falcons thus far this season.

For Fort Campbell, the Falcons are locked in as the fourth seed in the tournament, which begins next week. If Christian County were to upend UHA Tuesday night, the Colonels and Falcons would meet in the opening round of the 8th District Tournament.

Christian County now stands at 7-8-2 overall and 2-0 in district play.

Fort Campbell is 3-6-0 and 0-3.
